AML/KYC regulations in Gabon are enforced by a number of regulators including the

  • Banque centrale des états de l'afrique centrale(BEAC),
  • Le Groupe d'action contre le blanchiment d'argent en Afrique centrale (GABAC).

The primary legislation governing KYC/AML  in Gabon is Regulation No. 01/03 -CEMAC-UMAC relating to the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism in Central Africa.

Data protection regulations

The Gabon data protection authority ('CNPDCP') enforces Gabon’s data protection laws via the Gabon Law No. 001/2011 on the Protection of Personal Data.

Institutions are required to obtain users’ consent before processing and transferring personal data. Users are entitled to the erasure of their personal data upon request.

Gabon National Identity Card
The National ID issued by the Civil Registry and it’s the primary KYC document in Gabon.
Gabon Health Insurance ID
Health Insurance IDs issued by Department of Documentation and Immigration. They are required for healthcare activities and can also be used as a KYC document.
Gabon Passport
Passports issued by the Department of Documentation and Immigration. It is not the most common document but is an acceptable KYC document.
Gabon Resident Card License
