The primary legislation governing KYC/AML  in Sierra Leone is the Anti-Money Laundering and Combating of Financing Terrorism  Act, 2012.

Data protection regulations

The National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM) enforces Sierra Leone’s data protection laws via the Sierra Leone Telecomunication Act, 2006.

Institutions are required to obtain users’ consent before processing and transferring personal data. Users are entitled to the erasure of their personal data upon request.
